What is this Paypal business?
--Paypal is a widely used website
that more-or-less allows us to take credit card submissions. You are required to
create an account there, and they will hold your credit card info, etc. We never
get to see it, if that concerns you. They're pretty widely used, especially for
online aucitons like eBay. We used them last year
for a tournament, and were pleased with the results. In 2001 you'll be able to
use them to pay for tournaments and leagues. How handy!
I heard I can get paid by these clowns. How?
--If you folks sign up and register an
account with them (they'll call you verified), they'll pay you $5 for using their
service. And if you tell them we referred you (we go by money@cleveland-disc.org)
we'll get $5 once you're verified, which is a swell way to help ultimate grow in
the Cleveland Area without much pain 'tall. Nice.
It says the CDA is an unverified business member. Sounds shady.
--It's not too shady. We haven't yet completed the process whereby our checking
account is registered with them. We'll get around to it. If you think we're asking
you to take risks we won't, don't worry, at least one member of the CDA Hegemony (russ)
is all verified and whatnot.
I'm not so sure about this.
--C'mon, you're already online, if you're reading this. It's not a big extra step.
We believe this is as or less risky than letting some waiter walk away with your credit
card. Paypal has a lot of insurance and this n that. And we always provide other means
of payment, if you really want to give it a miss. See, we're not that pushy.
