HIgh School Hat Tournament - October 24
The CDA hosted a High School Hat tournament for existing and aspiring Junior Ultimate players in the Cleveland area on Sunday, October 24. All told, 30 players from six different Cleveland area high schools (Westlake, Orange, Solon, Kenston, Mayfield and Montessori) were divided randomly into four teams. A round robin format with games to 11 was followed.
The games were all played with good spirit and most were highly contested, with four of six games having a margin of victory of 1 or 2 points. The "Final" between the two 2-0 teams in the final round was decided with a Universe point to close out the day.
The CDA is planning to form a spring league for high school teams in the Cleveland area. If you know of any high school teams interested in participating in a spring league or other Juniors Ultimate events, contact Dave Arters at david.arters@lubrizol.com
